Most platforms treat status as just a coloured dot - a simple signal that doesn't reflect reality, making it difficult to identify who's truly available for help. We've all experienced having 20 people showing as "available" on Slack, yet no one actually able to provide quick feedback when needed.


Cosmos creates a new way: when you're Available or Listening in Cosmos, you're actually connected to the space - people can start talking to you instantly. This means when someone shows as Available, they really are there to talk - helping you find the cosmos colleague who can help you right now, making online collaboration real-time and respectful.

True Statuses reflect your real availability and auto-switch for privacy and accuracy. When someone's Available or Listening, you know they're genuinely there and ready to connect. This breaks the unrealistic expectation of appearing "online" during 9-to-5, acknowledging that everyone takes breaks, whilst ensuring people get support when they need it most.

How it works

Your status automatically adapts to your activity whilst giving you full control:


🟢Available Signal you're ready for quick chats and connections. Perfect for collaboration hours or when you want to invite spontaneous conversations.


🟡Listening Stay present without being on camera. Your mic and camera automatically turn off, but you're still connected to the space. After 5 minutes of inactivity on Available, Cosmos smartly switches to this mode.


🔵Focusing Let others know you're in deep work mode. Great for protecting concentrated work time whilst staying aware of what's happening around you.


🔴Away Automatically signals when you're not at your desk (after 10 minutes on desktop apps) or manually set when you step out.
