# Two Truths and a Lie on Cosmos Video

Two Truths and a Lie is a personal icebreaker where each player shares three statements about themselves — two true and one false — while teammates try to guess the lie. Cosmos Video runs the game as a built-in multiplayer experience for 3 or more players. It is used for team-building because it surfaces personal details that rarely come up in regular meetings and rewards attentive listening.

The game runs inside a Cosmos Video space with no separate app, download, or account. A host opens a game room, players join with cameras and microphones on, and Cosmos handles the prompt cycle, voting, and score tracking. Reactions and banter happen over the live video feed, so the energy of an in-person icebreaker is preserved for distributed teams. It works for fully remote groups, hybrid teams, onboarding sessions, and cohort kickoffs without any facilitator preparation.

## How to Play

1. Open a Cosmos Video game room and select Two Truths and a Lie.
2. On your turn, submit three statements about yourself — two true and one false.
3. Other players read the three statements and vote for which one they believe is the lie.
4. After all votes are in, Cosmos reveals the lie and awards points to players who guessed correctly.
5. Repeat for each player. The player with the most correct guesses wins.

## Good For

- Team sizes: 3 to 15 players per round
- Onboarding new hires into a remote team
- Opening a weekly all-hands or sync ritual
- Cohort kickoffs in bootcamps and cohort-based courses
- Breaking the ice in cross-functional workshops

## Frequently Asked Questions

### How many players do you need?

Two Truths and a Lie works with 3 players minimum and scales comfortably to 12 to 15. Larger groups can still play, but the round length grows with each added player. For groups above 15, running the game in breakout rooms keeps each round short and interactive.

### Does it require any preparation?

No. Cosmos Video runs the game inside a space with scoring, voting, and turn order handled automatically. Players type their three statements in the moment, so there is no host prep, slide deck, or spreadsheet to maintain before a session starts.

### Can fully remote teams play it?

Yes. Two Truths and a Lie was designed for virtual teams. It runs in a Cosmos Video game room with video and audio on, so teammates see reactions in real time. Because there is no whiteboard or manual scoring, the experience is identical whether players are remote, hybrid, or in a physical office.

### How long does a game take?

A typical round takes 10 to 20 minutes depending on player count. Because each player contributes one prompt per round, the game is easy to fit into a weekly ritual, an onboarding agenda, or the first 15 minutes of an all-hands.
